The People
A good place...
A good place for discreet encounters
Heinrich von Berenberg-Gossler, one of the club's first presidents, saw it as a place where meetings of leading minds frorn the political, business and cultural worlds could take place without any danger of undesirable publicity.
Over the years there have been innumerable such meetings involving people that were or still are household names. The club treated these meetings with its traditional discretion.
In some cases, reports of the results later made headlines in the media. In others - they simply never happened.
